The terms, kept readable

These are the ground rules — for using this site and for any job Coffman Moving Service runs across Hopkins County and the wider Pennyrile. Plain wording, no fine-print games. Request a quote or book a date and you’re agreeing to what’s below.

A signed price is the price

Every binding estimate goes out signed — Gail or I ink the printed sheet before it leaves. The figure on that sheet is the figure you pay. Three things, and only three, can shift it: you add to the inventory, you add a stop, or you move the date after the truck’s on the calendar. When one does, we write a new number down before a box is lifted — no ticking meter, no line you didn’t see coming.

If you cancel or reschedule

  • Three or more days ahead — your deposit is returned in full.
  • One to three days out — it rolls into a credit you can put toward any move booked in the next twelve months.
  • Inside a day — the deposit is kept, since your slot meant waving off other work.

What we can’t load

A short list is off-limits by federal rule and common sense: propane and gasoline, loaded firearms and live rounds, fireworks, food that spoils, houseplants bound across a state line, cash, and jewelry. Those travel in your own car, packed by your own hand.

Coverage and what you’re liable for

By default every load carries the federal released-value floor — $0.60 a pound per article — with nothing added for it. Got something of real worth? Flag it beforehand and we’ll fit full-value protection covering a shipment as high as $1,000,000. The clock on a claim runs nine months from the day we set it all down.

Reaching your door

Saving a spot at the curb on both ends is your part — or warn us early when the only way in is a gravel county lane, a steep farm drive, or a freight elevator that has to be reserved, and we’ll run a shuttle. Rain or a January glaze we handle for free. Metered or permit spaces on the tight blocks of downtown Madisonville are on you unless we’ve agreed otherwise in writing.

    Before a single item shifts, the furniture goes under blankets and shrink-wrap, the upright gets padded and belted, and we cover the door frames and hardwood.

    Load up

    One piece at a time heads down the stairs and out the door, gets belted into the truck, and is checked off the inventory as it goes aboard.

    Rolling to the new address

    Whoever loaded you back in Manitou drives that very truck to your new door — nobody hands the job off, no relay carrier picks up the load partway there.
