Full-service packing across the Madisonville area

Close to one client in three leaves the packing to us, usually for the same reasons: the Baptist Health nurse on a Monday start with no free evening to wrap dishes, the Dawson Springs couple who won’t trust their crystal to grocery-store newsprint, the Providence empty-nester done taping boxes all week.

The crew shows up fully stocked — kraft paper, packing tape, bubble wrap and wardrobe boxes, along with heavy dish-pack boxes whose cell dividers keep one glass off the next. The day before, Gail or your crew chief walks the house, notes what gets boxed and what you’ll set aside, and on move day the packers arrive just ahead of the loaders.

What a full pack tends to run

Rooms packed Packers Flat range
Kitchen and bathrooms only 2 packers $390 – $650
Whole studio or 1-bed unit 2 packers $650 – $980
Two- to three-bed home, every room 2–3 packers $1,180 – $1,820
Full four-bedroom house 3 packers $1,900 – $2,800
Extra crating for art and mirrors 3 packers $2,250 – $3,250

Prefer we bill it hourly instead? Two packers go $128/hr and three go $178/hr — though most take the flat quote. Under our Kentucky and interstate authority we cover each load up to $1,000,000; released value runs sixty cents a pound at no charge, and you have nine months from move day to file.

Labels and crates

Each box is marked with the room it belongs in, so unloading is never a guessing game once you reach the new place. Mirrors, framed canvases, plates and stemware each get padded and nested into a crate cut to match their exact size. Anything oversized — an upright, a gun safe — moves under our specialty line, and packing slots in neatly alongside a long-haul job.

What the flat price includes on a Manitou, KY move

  • All the boxes, dish-packs and glass dividers come off our own truck, so there is nothing for you to buy ahead of time
  • Fragile pieces — heirlooms, framed art, glassware — get wrapped in clean paper and bubble before they ever touch a box
  • Every box is marked for the room it belongs in, and you keep a copy of the inventory
  • Custom crates are built on the spot for glass tabletops, mirrors, fine china and canvases
  • Pack the whole house or just the tricky rooms, done the afternoon before or first thing that morning
  • Add an unpack at the far end and it all stays under the one flat price

So — what will it come to?

Two movers and the truck run $128/hr on the meter — or set the whole job on one signed Hopkins County flat rate written out across a single page

That rate already carries the furniture blankets, the hand trucks, the rolls of shrink film and the slow, careful carries a small-town condo or an Earlington walk-up demands — along with any COI a Madisonville apartment block or a rural HOA needs filed before load-day. A third mover brings it to $178 an hour.

The questions this service turns up again and again

Do you box everything up the day before, or the same morning we load out?
Depends on the scope. A full-house pack we generally handle the day before; if it's only a few rooms, the packers arrive the same morning just ahead of the loaders. For a three-bed, the biggest time-saver is having your closets and pantry emptied before we arrive.
Can I pack my own clothes and hand over just the breakables?
Of course. Plenty of clients wrap their own clothes and books, then hand us the kitchen, the china cabinet and the framed art.
How do you protect glassware and framed art?
Carefully. Stemware and glasses sit in compartmented dish-pack boxes; plates and china get a wrap of clean newsprint and bubble; framed art and mirrors travel in made-to-measure crates.
Once everything's unpacked, will you cart the empties off?
Tack an unpack onto the far end and the crew breaks the empties down and hauls them off that day; skip it and a later box pickup is a quick call to arrange.

What is it we are moving?

Tell us what needs to go, we shape the crew around that load, and the price comes to you flat, on paper, and fully backed by us.

From first call to last box: the five steps

1

Hand us the basics

Two addresses, how many floors at each, and the date: send those over and one flat figure emails back to you with nothing buried below it.

2

Set the date

Say which morning works for you and we build the day around it, filing whatever COI a building requires, reserving the freight lift when there is one, and holding a tight arrival window.

3

Wrapping and boxing

Adding packing? We start with the fragile things, then move through the house room by room, boxing either the breakables alone or the whole place, in pads, paper and cartons we supply.

4

Loaded and on the road

The uniformed crew that padded and loaded you at the Manitou curb rides along to the far door and unloads every piece there as well, so your things pass to no one else en route.

5

Settled into the new place

We put every box in the room you labeled, rebuild the beds, and clear out every last sheet of used paper as we leave.

Hour by hour through move day

Start to finish, your Manitou crew keeps one even, clock-driven rhythm — the same tempo at the first doorway as at the last box carried in.

  1. 7:00a

    Crew arrives

The uniformed crew shows up early, salts the ramp if there is ice underfoot, has any building COI already on file, and gets the floor runners rolling out.

  2. 7:45a

    Pad & wrap

Before a single item shifts, the furniture goes under blankets and shrink-wrap, the upright gets padded and belted, and we cover the door frames and hardwood.

  3. 9:30a

    Load up

One piece at a time heads down the stairs and out the door, gets belted into the truck, and is checked off the inventory as it goes aboard.

  4. 11:30a

    Rolling to the new address

Whoever loaded you back in Manitou drives that very truck to your new door — nobody hands the job off, no relay carrier picks up the load partway there.

  5. 1:30p

    Carry-in

Every carton is carried to the room named on its side, and each sofa, dresser and headboard lands on the exact spot you call.

  6. 3:30p

    Rebuild

We reassemble the beds, stand the upright back in its place, walk the whole home with you one last time, and haul off every sheet of used paper.

A note from the owner

In Dale’s own words

Back in 2009 I hung my own name on Coffman Moving Service under a rule I have never once bent: whatever price we put in writing is what you settle once the final box is inside, with nothing invented after the truck is loaded. The trucks are ours, paid off, and no one on my crew lays a hand on a family’s upright or heirloom until he has spent his time learning the trade at my elbow.

Whether it is a one-bedroom above a Main Street shop in Madisonville or a four-bedroom farmhouse past Nortonville, the care runs exactly the same: a single Manitou crew you can trust and one written flat rate, curb to doorstep. That is why neighbors keep passing our name around, from Earlington walk-ups to homes down a gravel county lane.
